Women are Harmful to Men
This is another statement which all the scholars agree that Muhammad uttered against
women. In part 7, p.22 of Sahih al-Bukhari, we read,
"The prophet said: ‘I have not left any affliction more harmful to men than women."’
The Imam al-Nawawi in his book, "Riyadh al-Salihin" (p. 110), reiterates that these
words were spoken by Muhammad. Of course, Sikhism rejects such statements and
disapproves of all these accusations against women.
"From woman, man is born; within woman, man is conceived; to woman he is engaged and married.
Woman becomes his friend; through woman, the future generations come.
When his woman dies, he seeks another woman; to woman he is bound.
So why call her bad? From her, kings are born.
From woman, woman is born; without woman, there would be no one at all."
--Guru Nanak Dev Jee
Lastly, we have to ask: If this was Muhammad’s view of women, why then, did he possess
so many wives, concubines and prisoners of war?
